A MAN appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday accused of assaulting a man to his severe injury at the town's Union Street on April 19. Mr Louis James Maclean, 23, of Lochalsh Road, Inverness, made no plea or declaration. Bail was refused.

MORE than 23 million viewers watched Ricky Butcher wed Bianca on BBC-TV's East-Enders, according to today's official BARB figures, which show that 17.8 million people sat down to watch the wedding first time round last Thursday and another six million saw the Sunday omnibus.
