TOKYO: Japan's Parliament will mark the 50th anniversary of the attack

on Pearl Harbour on December 7, 1941, by apologising to its former

Second World War enemies.

News media reported that a resolution expected to be adopted this week

would apologise for the war, express appreciation for support Japan

received in post-war rebuilding, and emphasise Japan's determination to

live as a peaceful state.

In Washington, however, President George Bush ruled out any apology to

Japan for the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
