June 5.

The daily dose of cricket on TV has invoked once again the annual

condemnation of many viewers. During recent all-day coverage of cricket

an interruption of 10 minutes allowed Scottish viewers to glance at the

final round of the British Amateur Golf Championship at Nairn.

The authorities down south can trot out the customary excuses of

costs, distant location, and minimal public interest but out of the

weeks of cricket, projection time could have been found for coverage of

the full 18 holes at Nairn.
