PETER has been manager of Glasgow City Women's Football Club for the past eight years.

WHAT'S your favourite moment with the club?

The day we clinched the Premier League title in May 2005. We had to go away to Kilmarnock, who are one of the best teams in Scotland, and we won 5-1.

And your worst?

We are a club that have become accustomed to winning, but we have managed to play in three cup finals since 2003 and we have lost all of them - to Kilmarnock.

Which is your favourite away ground?

Newburgh Ladies play at Newburgh Juniors' ground in Fife and Forfar Farmington Ladies have a very nice stadium which they share with a Junior club. We play at Glasgow Green and, although there are a few problems, we have the best surface in the league.

Who has been the best player at your club?

We've had some very good players but Laura Montgomery, who writes a column in this paper every Thursday, has had over 200 appearances and epitomises everything about the club.

What is your favourite goal?

Laura scored a header against Kilmarnock the day we won the league. It was 1-1 and she scored one minute before half-time to go 2-1 up and that gave us the confidence to go on and win the game, so it was an important goal.

Who has been an influence on your managerial style?

I was a Celtic supporter and anyone in Scottish football knows what Jock Stein meant to the game here. More recently, I was a fan of Tommy Burns, even though he wasn't successful but for the type of football they played.

What is your favourite piece of club memorabilia?

I am into statistics more than memorabilia, and I have books with all our players' appearances and other details about every game. We get presented with medals as managers but I only keep the winner's ones.

Which is your favourite kit?

We wear tangerine and navy and that is quite unique in the Scottish game. It's like a brand for Glasgow City. This year's strip is the nicest one we've had, I think.

Who is the greatest Scottish women's player of all time?

It is hard to argue against Julie Fleeting, of Arsenal, but I was always a big fan of Linda Brown, who latterly played for Kilmarnock.

What one thing would you change about the women's game in Scotland?

There are a lot of things I'd change but the first would be the media coverage given to the game to raise the general awareness it has. It is a minority sport but other minority sports seem to get more coverage.
