JUST weeks after becoming British Cadet champion Stroud Judo Club member Harry Lovell-Hewitt confirmed his number one spot on the England squad by winning both the North West and the English Open.
Lovell-Hewitt has since been selected to represent England in the European Cup and competed in Spain.
After beating adversaries from France and Slovakia he faced a strong Spanish opponent in the final.
Following a close-fought battle Lovell-Hewitt was awarded the win and the resulting gold medal.
Coach Richard Neale said: “This was a fantastic result for Harry on his international debut.”
