SHOWING the world your underpants would be a nightmare come true for most people, but for Noel Watson it was all a bit of peachy fun.

Recently named Britain's best bottom, Mr Watson, 24, of Abertillery, was jetted off to Munich's Riding Hall to compete in the international "Show Me Your Sloggi" contest on Wednesday.

Men and women from 28 different countries stripped down to the bare essentials in the hope of winning a modelling contract with underwear brand Sloggi and a £10, 000 cash prize.

The 43 hopefuls were judged by a panel including lingerie model, Sophie Anderton.

Romania snagged the world title for the men and Bulgaria for the ladies.

Mr Watson said: "I could have done with the £10,000, but the people who won were fantastic.

"I did still win a holiday for four to Ibiza at the British finals. It's not till next year but I'm already looking forward to it."

He added: "I'm not as built as the guys they chose for the finals, I'm quite skinny.

"I think I got through this far on the sense of humour vote, I think people voted for me because I wasn't taking myself seriously."

The whole contest kick started for Mr Watson on a drunken evening in September.

He said:"I saw the advert on myspace and put my picture up because I'd been having a bad week.

"I thought it would be a laugh."

But he won't be using his new title to score points with the ladies.

He laughed. "I'm not the sort of guy to use chat-up lines."
