Gwent raises funds for Pudsey

Gwent went Children in Need mad on Friday, as people across the county donned funny costumes, sat in baths of beans and took part in many other wacky stunts for charity.

* School friends Brett Skyrme, 9, Joshua Hawkins, 7, Jacob Summerhill, 8, and Lewys Smith, 9, all of Crosskeys, have already raised £150 for their 12 mile cycle ride.

The Waunfawr Primary pupils cycled from Crosskeys Hotel to Fourteen Locks, and back again.

* Staff at Festival Park shopping centre in Ebbw Vale were also mucking in.

Festival Park marketing Manager, Kate Methuen, 31, Manager at Cotton Trader, Lynne Brookman, 51, and Matthew Griffiths, a sales assistant at Antler all bathed in mud for three hours on the Festival Park building site.

In Ebbw Vale, staff from Wild Thingz play centre in Aberbeeg lived up to their centre's name by dressing up as wild animals to collect cash from shoppers.
