THIS week Climate Change Champion James Fletcher talks about his year so far.

Hello Readers! Since the last time we spoke, I have had lots of experiences as your Climate Change Champion.

My post-Japan experience has taken me around the country and there I've had some great opportunities as the year progresses.

I caught up with my fellow champions in the Centre of Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, Mid Wales.

We visited many of the green attractions in CAT and saw how everyone could develop greener houses.

It is a place that is well worth a visit! We also had a chat from Jo Gwilim from the Centre on a subject called 'Low Carbon Futures' and the way that the world will change if nothing is done to combat the carbon footprints of Wales and the world. The Champions discussed their year so far and looked forward at the months to come.

Along with my school, I have organised an event that will bring real climate change expertise to the South Wales valleys.

David Noble, an apprentice of Nobel Prize-winning Al Gore, will be speaking at Lewis School Pengam's Climate Change Convention on October 9th.

The day will also include speeches by the Champions and workshops in classrooms around the building.

If you want to know any more about this, please contact Lewis School. This opportunity is really exciting and is a great way to show that Wales is leading the way on changing attitudes on our increasingly fragile planet!

James' Top Tip: Why not invest in a railcard? Rail fare is cheaper than petrol and this will save on your carbon and monetary budgets! I have one and take the train everywhere now!
