Minute's silence for Ebbw Vale stalwart
EBBW Vale will hold a minute's silence before Saturday’s home league match with Tondu as a mark of respect for player, committee member and lifelong supporter Terry Cameron who died last week.
Mr Cameron was a well-known and popular figure who was a teacher and had worked at the town’s Willowtown Secondary Modern and Glanyrafon Junior Comprehensive schools.
A tribute on Ebbw Vale RFC’s website reads: “We were all saddened to learn of the death of Terry Cameron.
“Terry was a former player, committee member and lifelong supporter of Ebbw Vale RFC and enjoyed arguing the finer points of the game over a beer.
“He was a great storyteller, with a ready wit, and will be missed by his many friends.
“Everyone associated with Ebbw Vale RFC extends their sympathies to Terry's family at this very sad time.”
Mr Cameron also represented the town at cricket.
