TEAM NEWS: Lewis Evans to lead Dragons against Leinster
12:26pm Thursday 31st October 2013 in Sport
LEWIS Evans will skipper Newport Gwent Dragons against RaboDirect Pro12 champions Leinster at Rodney Parade tomorrow evening.
The openside flanker, who led the region in 2012/13, takes over from lock Andrew Coombs, who is preparing for the autumn internationals with Wales.
Director of rugby Lyn Jones makes five changes to the XV that was tonked 40-17 by the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium last weekend.
Hallam Amos moves to full-back with Dan Evans dropping to the bench and Adam Hughes coming in on the wing.
Pat Leach returns at outside centre after being sidelined since the round two loss in Edinburgh because of an elbow injury while fly-half Jason Tovey is back after missing the game in Swansea with concussion.
There are just two changes to the pack with Coombs and fellow Wales star Toby Faletau replaced by Adam Jones and Netani Talei respectively.
Leinster are without a raft of Ireland stars but still boast a formidable line-up that includes South Africa full-back Zane Kirchner, ex-Australia wing Lote Tuqiri, New Zealander Jimmy Gopperth at fly-half and Shane Jennings and Rhys Ruddock in the back row.
