CROSS Keys hope that tomorrow's trip to Moseley (kick-off 2pm) can be a springboard to success in 2014.

Even a bonus point win at Billesley Common is unlikely to be enough to earn a last-eight spot for the Pandy Park outfit.

Leinster A have already won Pool One and the pair of quarter-finals berths for best runners-up are likely to go to Leeds, Munster, Plymouth or Pontypridd.

Nonetheless, the cross-border competition has been enjoyed by Keys, who are looking to do a 'double double' against English opposition.

Last weekend they overpowered Ealing for the second time and they will look to repeat their hard-earned 20-16 success earned against Moseley in the tournament opener at Pandy Park.

If they can triumph against the professionals in the West Midlands then it would be the perfect preparation for a second half of the season that sees Keys chasing the Premiership title and Swalec Cup glory.

"We want to be involved in big games at the end of the season and if we want to achieve things then we need to get used to going to tough places and winning," said head coach Greg Woods.

"We've done that recently and want to keep that winning habit. The boys have been superb and I can't fault them for effort and attitude.

"If we can finish on four wins in a group that contains Leinster then we can leave the competition with our heads held high knowing that we have represented Gwent well.

"I am really proud of our three quality wins in the group stages and the two wins (against Newport and Bedwas) to qualify. Now we are going full out to finish in style."

Wales Under-20s openside Scott Matthews started for Newport Gwent Dragons at Mogliano last night but the region have supplied Keys with a feisty replacement.

Flanker Darren Waters is set to make his return from knee ligament damage with a cameo off the bench and will be joined in the squad by his regional teammates tighthead Francisco Chaparro, hooker Elliot Dee, scrum-half Luc Jones and fly-half/centre Lewis Robling.

Moseley have just one win to their name in the tournament this season – a 33-10 home success against Championship rivals Ealing – but made Leinster A work hard for 24-22 and 23-13 victories.
