PONTYPOOL will look to get back to winning ways when they host Cardiff Met in the Championship this evening (kick-off 7.15pm), writes Chris Kirwan.
Pooler's slim hopes of finishing as runners-up to Ebbw Vale suffered a blow at the weekend when they were beaten 19-3 in Tondu.
Nonetheless, it has been a much better season for Mike Hook's men, who finished 12th last term, and they will look to demonstrate that with a high finish.
They currently sit sixth but would a victory tonight would put them within striking distance of the students, Narberth and Bargoed.
RGC 1404 are favourites to finish second but the chasing pack have hope as the north Walians must finish their season with away trips to Bargoed, Pooler and Cardiff Met.
Pooler suffered a 32-26 defeat to Cardiff Met in Cyncoed last month, the visitors fighting back from 20-0 down at the break to take the lead only for the hosts to strike in the closing stages.
