CRAWSHAY’S Welsh have chosen an experienced squad for their tour of the Czech Republic at the end of the month.

The famous invitation side managed by Ian Brice will play a Prague Select XV on Thursday, May 29 before facing the Czech Republic two days later.

“We expect a very difficult game against the national side and have chosen a side that will have the experience to cope,” said Brice.

The 23-strong squad will be captained by Gareth Gravelle who will be joined in the back row by the evergreen Bedwas No 8 Deri Mattravers.

The 43-year-old is joined by Bridge Field scrum-half Tom Rowlands, flanker Simon Grainger, hooker Richard Wilkes and prop Ian George.

Newport provide full-back Geraint O’Driscoll, centre Dan Robinson and lock Adam Brown while two members of the pack come from Cross Keys, number eight Adam Powell and lock/flanker Tom Lampard.

Newbridge fly-half Kieran Meek is selected along with Newport-born wing Jimmy Norris, who now plays for Old Luctonians, and Trinant tighthead Ross Davies, who plays professionally for Doncaster.
