THE Celtic Manor and Newport High School will be used by Ireland and Georgia at next year’s Rugby World Cup.

Georgia will head to the city to prepare for their Millennium Stadium clash against champions New Zealand on October 2 and the Irish will be in town ahead of their October 11 fixture against France.

The final team in Group A – which will be decided by a playoff between Russia and Uruguay – will also be based in Newport ahead of their game against Wales on September 20.

Tournament organisers have announced 41 teams bases that will host the 20 competing teams. They consist of an outdoor pitch, indoor training facility, a swimming pool, gym and hotel and will be used by the competing teams in the lead up to and during the tournament.

Wales will be based at the Vale Resort in Hensol and London Irish.
