POLICE are becoming increasingly concerned for the the safety of 67-year-old Thomas Bell, who has been missing since he left Monklands House residential home, Stanrigg Street, Airdrie, last Monday. Mr Bell, who suffers from a throat condition and can only communicate by writing notes, was last seen at a local bank just hours after leaving.
Drugs raids
Grampian Police said three people were expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court tomorrow, after about 20 arrests were made during a major drugs swoop on Friday and Saturday. A spokesman said addresses at Elgin, Buckie, Forres, and Speyside were raided and a ''sizeable quantity'' of controlled drugs and stolen property recovered.
Sole winner
ONE winner scooped the #9,512,277 National Lottery jackpot at the weekend, matching the six winning numbers 29 40 35 20 06 31. The bonus ball was 21. Fourteen had five numbers and the bonus for #209,061 each, 732 won #2499 for five, 42,525 won #94 four for, and 836,548 won #10 for three.
