Keith player-manager Martin Allan feels he should have been sitting on the sidelines when he rifled in a vital match-winner against Rothes.

Allan scored after 58 minutes to keep the Maroons on course for a showdown with Huntly, but he said afterwards: ''I think the boys would tell you I shouldn't even have been on the pitch when I scored, given the way I was performing.''

In a nervy 90 minutes, the former Montrose defender's strike was all that separated the sides and the Maroons, taking advantage of Huntly's idle day, went top of the table with their eighth win in a row.

Elsewhere, Lossiemouth's title bid was finally killed off after Charlie Rowley, who snatched an equaliser on the hour, was then sent off for lashing out with an elbow.

That sparked the end, with Mike Stephen slotting in the remainder of a match-winning hat trick in a 3-1 victory.

Afterwards, however, Kellas insisted there had been no intent in Rowley's actions against Broch's James Geddes.

Despite defeat, he praised the Lossie players for clinching a cup double in a memorable fiftieth anniversary season.

Kellas said: ''The changing room was deathly after the game - the players were absolutely gutted.

''But I told them they had to look at it differently. This has been a marvellous season for the club. The cup successes will be remembered for a long time and the players should be proud of themselves.''

Peterhead played what could be their last match at Recreation Park before moving to a new stadium, and late Colin Milne strike ensured they didn't mark the occasion with a disappointing defeat.

Fort William grabbed a rare point against struggling Brora while Kevin Christie's 18-yard strike gave Deveronvale three points in a typical end-of-season affair against Nairn .

Clach's Bruce McCraw stunned Cove with a match-winning double and Wick starlet Richard Hughes also netted twice in a 3-1 defeat of Forres.
