Hydro-Electric is to build a thoroughly green #6m energy centre for a Sussex firm of tomato-growers, using recovered carbon dioxide exhaust gas to boost crop growth as well as providing heat and electricity.
The four-megawatt combined heat and power plant at Runcton is Hydro-Electric's second for commercial market gardeners Van Heyningen Brothers. The first was a two-megawatt plant at Littlehampton in west Sussex.
