A LANARKSHIRE firm has won orders worth #30m for earthmoving equipment

and parts, the majority for China. Terex, based at Newhouse, near

Motherwell, beat strong opposition for the contracts, which include one

Chinese deal for #9m worth of special trucks, the largest of their type

built in Europe.

Managing director Bill Buchan said the orders, including one for 75

dump trucks for the British Army, meant better stability and job

security for employees. Terex has been involved in a #9m investment

programme.
