* LINCOLN fighter Mark McCreath was unable to prevent Valery Kayumba

of France from retaining the European light-welterweight title and his

unbeaten record, the referee stopping the Paris bout in the eleventh

round as McCreath took punishment.

McCreath was on the edge of a knockout when the bell went at the end

of the tenth and was defenceless in the eleventh as Kayumba hit him with

a series of combinations. It was the Frenchman's twenty-ninth win in 30

fights.

Frenchman Anaclet Wamba retained the WBC cruiserweight title by

outpointing David Vedder of the United States.
