* NO-ONE who saw David Sole march his rugby heroes on to Murrayfield
on March 17, 1990, there to gub the English and win the Grand Slam, will
ever forget it. They tackled like tigers, and Sole recreates the
occasion memorably.
He also puts in a hefty tackle on the SRU administrator who called him
''a cancer at the heart of Scottish rugby'' when Sole, as team captain,
was negotiating a relaxation of the rules on off-the-pitch payments;
this is part of what he has to say about present-day shamateurism in
international and club rugby.
He's a driven man, is Sole, and his strength of will had Scotland win
games they shouldn't have. We need more players and gentlemen like him.
