A councillor who discovered 250 empty legal high canisters has called for powerful new antisocial behaviour laws to be used in the district.
Adrian Fluker was part of a team of volunteers who made the discovery during a litter pick around Southminster last month.
He told a Maldon District Council crime and disorder committee meeting the authority should consider introducing a Public Spaces Protection Order across Maldon.
The order, part of the Antisocial Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act could be used to ban people from gathering in parks and other open spaces and using laughing gas.
