Coronation Street’s Michael Rodwell is set to storm out of his wedding to Gail McIntyre – as the pair attempt to tie the knot for a second time.
Their last wedding was cancelled because Gail (Helen Worth) was late after Michael’s real son Gavin (Mark Holgate) turned up on her doorstep.
Ever since then she has been keeping the fact that Andy Carver (Oliver Farnworth), who has been posing as Gavin, is not Michael’s real son a secret, because she is worried the shock could kill Michael (Les Dennis) as he has a weak heart.
But she is so full of guilt and worry on the big day, that Michael thinks she doesn’t want to marry him, and storms out of the ceremony.
Gail’s nerves are made worse by the fact that Luke Britton (Dean Fagan) also discovers the truth about Andy’s identity, and tells him to stay aware from his sister Steph (Tisha Merry).
But Corrie bosses still won’t reveal if Gail will finally tell Michael the truth.
Helen told the Radio Times: “Really, the best thing she could do is sit down quietly and tell him everything and then – if he still wants to marry her – it’s all out in the open.
“But she genuinely believes the truth could kill him so she can’t do that. The only alternative is probably to go through with the wedding and wait until he’s well enough to tell him the truth.
“And after all, Gail is still a hopeless romantic who just wants to be happy. Despite everything that’s happened to her, she’s still an optimist!”
