JEO Davies will looking to overcome an injury-hit campaign and show his Newport Gwent Dragons credentials when he returns to Bedwas next season.

The 19-year-old lock has been re-allocated to Bridge Field along with 18-year-old wing George Gasson, who scored two tries on debut for the club in the 2014/15 finale against Neath, and 17-year-old centre Connor Edwards, who featured for the Dragons seniors in the friendly against Bristol last summer and also crossed the whitewash against the Welsh All Blacks.

The pair of backs will be nursed through as they cut their teeth but the expectations will be greater on Davies, who made his regional debut against the Scarlets in the LV= Cup at the age of 17.

He was a mainstay of the Wales Under-20s team at the Six Nations but missed the World Rugby Championship in Italy through injury, rather summing up his 2014/15.

Davies made just three league appearances for Bedwas, two for Cross Keys in the British and Irish Cup and injuries deprived him the chance to push for more than a trio a games as a replacement for the Dragons in the LV=.

"Joe will be keen to have a big year after a frustrating season," said head coach Steve Law. "Now it's time for him to made strides forward and we will work hard to help in his development.

"Joe needs to be a force in the Premiership while the other two are a bit younger but showed that they had huge potential against Neath."

Davies will be looking to impress as he battles with Rynard Landman, Andrew Coombs, Cory Hill and Matthew Screech for places in the second row.

Bedwas have arranged friendlies at Glamorgan Wanderers and Bargoed either side of a home encounter with Henley Hawks of English National League One, who they have enjoyed playing in the last two years.
