WELSH bragging rights are at stake in RFL Conference League South when Torfaen Tigers host the Raiders at Cwmbran RFC (kick-off 2.30pm) on Saturday.

The Tigers will draw level with Sheffield Hallam Eagles in fourth place should they win while a victory for the away side from Llanelli will see them leap above Torfaen in fifth.

It’s a mouth-watering encounter and the Tigers will hope to turn the tables after west proved to be best in May when the Raiders triumphed 34-26 in a bruising clash.

Torfaen come into the game on the back of four wins in a row, something their chairman Rob Davies believes will be to their advantage.

“It's a massive game, we've built a winning streak on the back of improved discipline,” he said.

“Welsh Derbies are so often about who wants it more and it should be a great game for the neutral.

“There's been a lot of talk about the negativity surrounding the first meeting but that overlooks what was a fantastic game between two well matched sides.”

The Raiders have lost all their games on the road so far this season and Raiders’ team manager Peter Tiffin hopes this will change on their short trip down the M4 this Saturday.

“As I mentioned in previous weeks, we all knew that July was going to be a tough month,” he said.

“The boys did really well last week at Coventry especially as so many first team players were missing.

“I am really looking forward to it as we shall have a full strength squad back in action and I hope both sides can put everything behind them and show how talented both squads are.

“Torfaen are doing well in the league with some impressive results as if late and we are still looking for our first away win of the season so we should be in for a great on-field battle.”

Admission is £3 for adults, £2 for students and seniors, £1 for 12-16-year-olds and free for under-12s.

Bridgend Blue Bulls will secure a place in the 2015 South Wales Conference Grand Final on August 16 if they beat Cardiff City B this Saturday at Pyle RFC (kick-off 2pm).

The Bulls are defending their trophy and are hot favourites to beat a Cardiff B side that has struggled so far in the league this season.

The Bulls will qualify for the Final as they will finish top of the league with the winners of an expected semi-final between Aber Valley Wolves and Cardiff City A to join them.

Cardiff City A are looking to try and snatch second place from Aber Valley Wolves and they’ll go one step further to doing this if they can overcome winless Gwendraeth Valley Raiders on Saturday at Mynydd-y-Garreg RFC (kick-off 2pm).
