EBBW Vale fly-half Josh Lewis will leave Eugene Cross Park at the end of this season to join Bath in the Aviva Premiership.

The 25-year-old, who returned to the Steelmen from the Scarlets last summer, sees the move as a “huge opportunity” to develop his game.

It was Lewis’ standout performances in Ebbw’s Championship-winning campaign of 2012/13 that earned him a deal with the West Wales region.

While he was there, Lewis continued his development with Llanelli in the Principality Premiership, amassing more than 350 points in 36 games.

Lewis came back to Gwent in June 2016 to re-join the club that had just been crowned Premiership champions.

On signing for Bath, Lewis said: “I’m really excited to be joining Bath. It’s a huge opportunity for me to continue developing my all-round game, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder added: “Josh is a promising fly-half and will provide added depth and competition, which will undoubtedly help to drive the team forward.

“He’s shown glimpses of what he can do in Wales and I’m excited to see him fulfil his potential here at Bath Rugby.”
