KINGSLEY Jones says Newport Gwent Dragons are lining up a move away from Rodney Parade for his son Dorian to protect the fly-half from allegations of nepotism.

Jones' oldest son, 29-year-old full-back/fly-half Rhys, is set leave Rodney Parade this summer to pursue other options while Dorian could also make an early exit.

The 24-year-old has another season left on his deal but tentative talks have been held with clubs in England.

Dorian Jones, who has made 11 appearances this season after being troubled by a groin issue at the start of the campaign, made his Dragons debut in 2013 after catching the eye with Ebbw Vale and Cross Keys and was handed a full-time deal two years later.

Rhys, a former Wales 7s international who has played professionally for Sale, Cornish Pirates and the Scarlets, headed for Newport in 2013 and also has another year on his deal.

"I feel for the two boys because (then director of rugby) Lyn Jones rated them and signed them," said Kingsley Jones.

"It was difficult at the time, because they are Gwent lads and they want to play for the Dragons, but for the three of us it's not healthy.

"Rhys will get a contract somewhere else, no problem, and Dorian is a young guy and it's a different situation.

"He feels that he needs to go and stand on his own two feet if he can get the opportunity. It has to be the right offer.

"I have spoken to agents and said that he is in contract and we are in a position to release him if it's the right offer.

"There are three Aviva Premiership teams that are keen, one are waiting on a big name and if that falls through they will be looking to talk to Dorian.

"If that's right for him then that's great but we've also got to replace him; we've got to make sure we are in a solid position."

Angus O'Brien,22, has made 23 appearances this season and has worn 10 on his back 15 times after experienced fly-half Nick Macleod suffered an ankle injury against the Ospreys in October.

The Dragons also have Wales Under-20s prospect Arwel Robson on their books while Gavin Henson has been signed for next season, although he is seen primarily as an inside centre.

Kingsley Jones has gone on record as wanting to sign an experienced overseas fly-half - although any such deal could be held up by the WRU takeover talks - and if he can ensure there is enough cover at 10 then he will allow his son to move on.

"At the end of the day there is a human side to it and I think some of the stuff that has been written and said about Dorian is unfair," he said.

"I don't' want it to work against Angus either and end up giving him too much rugby because we don't want to be seen to be favouring Dorian.

"If we can replace Dorian and find a suitable place for him to develop then we will do that."
