THE Dragons have announced that Monmouthshire Building Society will be their main sponsors for the next three seasons.

The Rodney Parade region have announced that the "significant" investment is the biggest deal in their history.

They will take the place of BT, whose sponsorship deal with all four Welsh regions expired at the end of 2016/17, on the front of the new jerseys in the coming campaign.

The new kit by Gilbert will be available for supporters to buy in early September and will still feature BT on it as part of a fresh, albeit smaller, agreement.

Dragons chief executive Stuart Davies said: “This investment from Monmouthshire Building Society is as timely as it is welcome and we would like to thank them, not just for their support now and over the years, but for their loyalty to us as we moved through a significant period of transition this summer.

“They have put their faith in us at the beginning of this new start, they share our vision for the future of the Dragons and see the potential for success both on and off the pitch.

“The contribution Monmouthshire Building Society has made to the future sustainability of the Dragons is the largest single sponsorship in our history in monetary terms and is a great example of what can be done when the true potential of the region is released.

“I know that the commercial team here have had a busy summer, as the feel good factor continues, and are close to announcing more sponsorships soon.”

Monmouthshire Building Society has a long standing relationship with the Dragons previously through match-day and community activation.

Interim chief executive Will Carroll said: “I am delighted that the society will be partners with the Dragons for the next three years.

“The region is in an exciting period of change, much like our business. The partnership shows our continued support for the communities within the region and our heartlands.

“We wish the team every success in the coming season.”
