DRAGONS stars Angus O’Brien and Calvin Wellington will both feature for Cross Keys in the Principality Premiership today, as Morgan Stoddart’s men take on Bridgend at Pandy Park (kick-off 12.30pm).

Fly-half O’Brien and wing Wellington are two of six changes Stoddart makes to his side following last Thursday’s comfortable win away to Neath.

Wellington moved back to Wales to join the Dragons last autumn after a spell in the 13-a-side code playing for Super League giants St Helens.

He has turned out for the Guinness PRO14 outfit twice this term, with his two appearances coming as a replacement in the Anglo-Welsh Cup fixtures against Saracens and Worcester.

As for O’Brien, who plays outside James Leadbeater, he pulls on a Keys jersey for the first time since 2015.

The home side’s other change in the backs sees Lewis Barnett replace the unavailable Phil Williams at inside centre.

In the pack, there are recalls for Corey Hewlett and Richard Cornock in the front row, while Scott Andrews returns in the second row in place of Luke Dyckhoff.

He is away on international duty with Germany for their Rugby Europe Championship encounter with Romania.

Elsewhere today, Newport go to Bridge Field for a Gwent derby against Bedwas (kick-off 1pm).

Black and Ambers head coach Craig Warlow is hoping his side keep up their good run of form, and it’s just two changes to the XV that started the narrow defeat of Ebbw Vale last time out.

Will Evans is given the nod at hooker and centre Chay Smith returns from Wales Sevens duty, while fly-half Matt O’Brien skippers the team with Rhys Jenkins still out through injury.

Adam Sabri and Evan Whitson join a strong bench which also includes the returning John Lavender.

Like Keys, hosts Bedwas are also grateful to the Dragons for players to bolster their matchday squad.

Nathan Hudd and George Lee picked up injuries in the defeat by Merthyr so head coach Ian Gardner has to reshuffle his pack for this afternoon’s clash.

Centre Connor Edwards, wing Pat Howard and prop Dan Suter come into the Bedwas side from the Rodney Parade region, and Senghenydd’s Will Fishlock is on the bench.
