FORMER Dragons fly-half Steffan Jones has moved from Bedwas to Principality Premiership rivals Cardiff.

The 27-year-old from Bargoed had a strong first season at Bridge Field after joining from Ampthill, playing 31 times and racking up 253 points.

Jones earned his chance with the Dragons in 2010 after catching the eye with Cross Keys and went on to make 45 regional appearances before moving to Bedford in the English Championship in 2014.

He returned to Gwent for 2017/18 but has now left Bedwas and signed for Steve Law at the Arms Park along with Cross Keys winger Mathew Powell.

The 23-year-old speedster spent three seasons at Pandy Park and crossed for 28 tries in 68 games.

The Blue and Blacks have also swooped for strong-running back row forward Morgan Allen.

The 28-year-old from Cwmbran started last season strongly with Bedwas following his release by the Scarlets with his displays earning a swift return to professional rugby with Ealing Trailfinders.
