Exciting Anglo-Welsh draw for Dragons

THE Newport Gwent Dragons have some mouth-watering matches in store after the Anglo-Welsh draw saw them pitted against the Ospreys, Leicester Tigers, Sale Sharks and Saracens.

Round 1 over the weekend of November 7 sees them play Kingsley Jones’s Sharks at Rodney Parade.

Then the following weekend, the Dragons will play the mighty Tigers at the new-look Welford Road.

After Christmas, they host great Welsh rivals the Ospreys in Newport on the weekend of January 30.

Their last pool match sees them head east along the M4 to face Saracens at Watford’s Vicarage Road over the weekend of February 6.

And the BBC has lost the rights to broadcast the tournament to Sky Sports for at least the next five years.

The revamped competition is also searching for a new sponsor.

You waited all those weeks for a story to troll and that's the best you can do, Dai?

It never ceases to amaze me how negative some so called Dragons supports are. The new season has not even started and already some are writting the side off. It looks a good draw to me and something to get our teeth into you neverknow we may suprise a few.

Absolutely. The teams in our group will all be more affected by the international call-ups than we will and I can't really see the English clubs taking it seriously at all as they never have. Add in the fact that we know we can beat the Arspreys at home and there is no reason not to believe we can get something out of this tournament.

Yep could do well against these English clubs 2nd sides.

Will S4C be showing the highlights, otherwise I wonder how many people will be watching especially as the English clubs treat it as a nothing competition.
I just wish the Dragons would concentrate on the Magners instead of risking injury to key players in competitions we don't have a hope of winning. A couple of consoistent seasons in the Magners would give us a base to challenge for other comps.
