WALES international Simon Church is aiming to get one over on his Charlton Athletic teammate Tal Ben Haim in this week’s crunch Euro 2016 qualifier, writes Andrew Penman.

Church’s Wales take on Ben Haim’s Israel in Haifa on Saturday with the hosts leading Group B and Chris Coleman’s men second in the table.

The pair, who drive together to training at Charlton every morning, are expected to be in direct opposition if Church gets the nod to start.

And the Addicks striker, who qualifies to play for Wales due to his Newport grandparents, is desperate to earn the bragging rights against his good friend.

“It will be strange but as soon as the match starts I’m sure no one’s going to be thinking about how well they know each other,” Church told the Football League Paper.

“Personally I know I’d love to score against him and that will be extra incentive.

“It’s going to be a tough game; I know that from playing against him in training!”

Meanwhile, former West Ham midfielder Jack Collison has vowed to return to football and has not given up on his international career with Wales.

The 26-year-old is without a club after struggling with a knee injury, and has not played a game since May.

“I’ve decided to take a bit of time out to make sure I've recovered from injuries,” he told BBC Sport.

“I’m going to wait until pre-season and try and get back into it at the start of next year.”

Collison, who played 121 times for the Hammers over eight years, signed a short-term deal with Ipswich Town in September but did not make an appearance for the Suffolk club.
