CROSS Keys may be set to finish bottom of their British and Irish Cup group but head coach Greg Woods says tomorrow's finale against Doncaster is far from a dead rubber, writes Chris Kirwan.

Pool Four has been highly competitive but the Pandy Park outfit suffered a fourth defeat from five games when overpowered 48-10 by Bedford last weekend.

This weekend they travel to unbeaten Doncaster, who could well head into the quarter-finals as top seeds after bagging four bonus points from five wins.

There is a slightly different feel to the Keys line-up this weekend as the club prepare for crunch Principality Premiership fixtures against champions Pontypridd and fierce rivals Newport. There are fewer Dragons in the squad with 19 of the 22 being Pandy Park regulars.

"We need to start getting our minds ready for two massive games against Ponty and Newport," said Woods.

"This game is a great opportunity for us to finish strongly and for the boys to get up to speed by going up against a quality side.

"This is all about giving 100 per cent and putting in a performance that puts us in good shape for Ponty at Sardis Road."

Keys were edged out 37-32 when the sides met in October and were left to rue a baffling decision or two in the eight-try thriller.

"That first game of the competition still haunts me and it could have all been so different if we had enjoyed a bit of luck," said Woods.

"Out of the three that we have played I would say that they are the best all-round side with good forwards and backs.

"Bedford have real pace while Cornish Pirates try and blitz you up front but Doncaster have a mixture of both."

Dragons centre Jack Dixon continues his comeback from a wrist injury in midfield alongside Polu Uhi in a powerful midfield.

Dorian Jones is set to pull the strings at fly-half as long as he doesn't get too much game time for the region against Bucharest this evening.

Keys (provisional): R Lee, A Hewitt, P Uhi, J Dixon, L Lewis, D Jones, J Leadbeater, L Garrett, D Hughes, A Jeffries, T Lampard, D Hodge, R Tucker, S Matthews (captain), A Powell. Replacements: J Howard, R Cornock, A Lott, S Williams, J Skiner, O Jones, N Trowbridge.
