CAPTAIN Leon Andrews has demanded that Cross Keys don't let their standards slip after toppling Principality Premiership champions Pontypridd.

Keys enjoyed a fantastic 24-22 success against Ponty at Pandy Park last weekend to show why many have tipped them to be the biggest rival for the men from Sardis Road.

But there has been no time for basking in the glory of a terrific win – they face another test of their title credentials when they host in-form Aberavon tomorrow (kick-off 2.30pm).

The Wizards have won six of seven games with their only loss coming at Ponty so Andrews knows that Keys will have to be on top form again.

"It was a good win against Ponty but it won't mean much if we don't back it up this weekend," said the influential centre.

"We were obviously chuffed because we played pretty well and deserved the win but there is still more to come from us.

"To have beaten Ponty for the first time in few seasons and still have improvements to come is a good thing and we have to keep building now.

"We've built up some momentum after a disappointing couple of results against Llandovery and Cardiff at the start of the season when we should have won but there is no chance of us getting ahead of ourselves."

What's even more encouraging for Keys is that a host of youngsters have driven their recent success – eight of the XV against Ponty are aged 22 or under.

"When we play oldies against the youngsters in training we are outnumbered now!" said Andrews, who is still only 31 despite being in his 14th season in the Premiership.

"(Winger) Lloyd Lewis has continued his good form from last season while (tighthead prop) Leon Brown has been phenomenal.

"His work rate around the field is incredible and it's like having another back row forward and (fly-half/full-back) Ethan Davies has been playing out of his skin.

"It's good to have such a strong squad at the moment and the players who have been coming off the bench have been making a big impact."
