EBBW Vale host Cross Keys in Ystrad Mynach tomorrow evening in the Foster’s Challenge Cup (kick-off 8pm).
The Gwent group of the development competition has been hit hard by poor weather with only five of the 12 fixtures having been played.
The Steelmen have moved their home game from Eugene Cross Park to the 3G surface at the Dragons’ training base to ensure a postponement can’t add to their fixture congestion.
The group stages were meant to be over by the end of January but the Gwent teams are playing catch-up.
Bedwas take on Newport on Saturday and the Black and Ambers travel to Pandy Park next Tuesday. The Steelmen travel to Rodney Parade on Tuesday, February 2 while new dates are yet to be arranged for Newport’s home games with Bedwas and Keys as well as the Keys versus Bedwas fixture.
Bedwas are leading the way in the Gwent group with two wins from their three games. The winners of the three geographical pools qualify along with the best runner-up with Carmarthen Quins and Pontypridd currently setting the pace.
