Taff-Ely & Rhymney Valley Division 1

Nelson Cavaliers Tervs 1 Bush Bluebirds 2

A near full strength team and a first home game of the season should have seen the Tervs on top form. Unfortunately it was a tough competition with both teams making a great contest out of proceedings.

Dai Quatermain was having an outstanding game in the Tervs goals pulling of a number of breathtaking saves which kept the scores goalless at half time.

Nelson started the second half slowly and soon found themselves one down. But they tried to get back into the game.

As the game headed for full time Tervs found a stunning equaliser. James Hurley won the ball just inside his own half and noticed the Bluebirds keeper well off his line, James then proceeded to shoot and lobbed the keeper for the equaliser.

This goal would not have looked out of place on any Premier League ground. Unfortunately for the Tervs they then conceded a second goal and the game drew to a close. Final score 1-2 to Bluebirds,
