NELSON secured an impressive victory against a competent Fairwater side. The pitch survived the recent storms and torrential rain to provide an entertaining game.

The first half was as competitive as it gets as both sides tried to stamp their authority on the game, tackles were flying in all over the pitch. One challenge by Fairwater, half way through the half, resulted in a penalty awarded to Nelson which Glenn Richards duly smashed over the bar....0-0 at half time.

The second half was again end-to-end. A long ball headed on by Glenn Richards fell to Dean Morris who set up Simon Davies to coolly slot past the Fairwater Goalkeeper to make it 1-0. Davies soon after got his second of the game as he prodded in at the far post to make it a flattering 2-0 to Nelson.

Fairwater had no choice but to chase the game and bolstered their attack, however, this tactic didn't pay off as it left them vulnerable at the back which Lee Richards and then Glenn Richards capitalised on by extending the lead to 4-0. This is how it finished and the result was a little flattering to Nelson, but they did deserve to win the game overall.
