Wales ran into more injury problems yesterday with centre Jon Davies suffering a recurrence of the ankle injury in training that had kept him out for a month while coach Warren Gatland says he may call for a loose forward replacement.
Jonathan Thomas, Martyn Williams and Sam Warburton are the only fit players there, the Dragons’ Dan Lydiate still not 100% and with Ryan Jones and Rob McCusker already out favourite for a call-up is Josh Turnbull of the Scarlets with Andy Powell, now with Wasps, likely to be included after the Australia game.
Gatland admitted that the Dragons also had "a couple of young loose forwards," Toby Faletau obviously being one for the future.
An Andrew Bishop-Tom Shanklin centre combination is now likely with Prydie on the wing and Harries on the bench.
The injury situation has got so bad that Gatland joked, "Someone give Gavin Henson a ring and see if he’s available to train."
