NEWPORT County U18s are in Football League Youth Alliance action again tomorrow as they travel to Cheltenham Town hoping to build on a much-improved performance away to Oxford United last week.
County were unlucky not to head home with at least a point after Oxford secured a 2-1 victory with a last-gasp free kick. Second-year scholar Spencer Wood notched County’s goal in the second half with a fine 20-yard strike.
Meanwhile, the Llanwern Newport County U18s team started their South West Counties League season last week in spectacular style, thrashing Weymouth Terras 9-1. Goals came from Nathan Doe (3), Dafydd Jones (2), Ashley Tandy (2), Alex Zanotti and Justin Davies.
They travel to Forest Green Rovers tomorrow.
