NEWPORT County won for the first time at Rodney Parade this term despite a late Northampton fightback.
The Exiles powered into a 2-0 half time lead courtesy of goals from Chris Zebroski and a blast from Darren Jones and appeared to have things sewn up when Lee Minshull nodded home just after the interval.
However, a late Cobblers fightback threatened the three points as sub Lawson D'Ath and Marc Richards struck to make it 3-2.
But the Exiles held on and are now four games unbeaten in League Two.
