NEWPORT County AFC boss Justin Edinburgh has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month award for October.

Edinburgh is up against Micky Mellon of Shrewsbury Town, John Sheridan of Plymouth Argyle and John Still of Luton Town for the award.

The Exiles secured ten points in five games last month, beating York City, Dagenham & Redbridge and Southend United.

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League chief operating officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Association director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet football trading manager Paul Lowery.

On Edinburgh, the panel says: “He did not panic over the side’s stuttering start to the season. Showed faith in his approach and players and was rewarded with a haul of 10 points from five games with victories over York City, Dagenham & Redbridge and Southend United.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
