NEWPORT County have confirmed that they are interested in re-signing former Wales international Darcy Blake, the Argus can reveal.

The former Cardiff City defender has trained with Newport for two days as he looks to resume his professional career having failed to find a new club after departing Rodney Parade in the summer.

He is being targeted to replace the injured Andrew Hughes and is expected to sign a deal until the end of the season.

“We are pleased to have Darcy back with us,” manager Justin Edinburgh confirmed.
