MILES Storey is set to extend his stay with Newport County AFC, the Argus understands.

The 21-year old is set to sign on for another month with Swindon boss Mark Cooper confirming that Newport have been in contact.

Storey has made three starts for County and a further two appearances off the bench - and it is expected that the Exiles will extend that agreement with the player keen to remain in Wales.

"Yes. There will probably be confirmation of that," Cooper said when asked by the local press this morning if he was expecting Storey's loan to be extended beyond this weekend.

"He's done well in parts, he's still learning the game but he's done well enough for them to want to keep him for another month.

"I think Miles, for me, has to be played in a certain way - I think he's ideally suited to playing in a 4-4-2 alongside a big target-man who's going to flick it on for him into space.

"I think that's what Miles needs or that's what suits Miles' games.

"I think Newport have played him out wide a couple of times, but I think Jimmy (Dack) is trying to get him into a two upfront."
