NEWPORT County will continue to see changes to their backroom staff, with two more departures set to be announced, the Argus can reveal.

County have confirmed to Argus Sport that physio Adam Roche, who arrived in September 2013, will leave Rodney Parade when his contract expires on June 30.

While the club have offered no comment on the re-shaping of their staff, they did confirm Roche’s departure.

However, County made no comment on the future of first team coach Wayne Hatswell, though the Argus understands he will also be departing Rodney Parade.

Hatswell, a former player as well as coach with the Exiles, was invited to apply for the Academy Director role at Newport, but has had a better offer and will leave this summer. The Argus understands he will join League One club Gillingham as their head of youth development.

“We don’t have any further updates on Wayne’s situation,” a club spokesman told the Argus. Hatswell was unavailable for comment.

The likely departure of the duo is in addition to goalkeeper Ryan Mackerness, fitness coach Tony James and former assistant manager Jimmy Dack, who have all left this summer.

However, County fans look set for a reunion with Dack next season with the popular character set to be announced as the assistant manager of Crawley Town.

Crawley, who were relegated from League One last term, are one of Dack’s former clubs and last week unveiled ex-Cheltenham boss Mark Yates as their new manager.

Yates is a close friend of Dack’s and was understood to be in the running for the Exiles before Terry Butcher was appointed.

Dack told the Argus that he hadn’t been at Crawley and hadn’t had talks with Yates, but we understand the duo are now close to an agreement.

“Jimmy is one of the people that I’ve spoken to but I’ve spoken to four or five people about the post but yes, he's in the running,” Yates said. “And I should be in a position to reveal more on Thursday. Jimmy is one of the most local ones I’ve spoken to and he has a history with Crawley, he’s an ex-player.

“I want to get the best staff as I can that are going to work for the club and the way we want to progress and take the club forward next season.”

The Exiles are hopeful of announcing more signings in the coming days, as they bid to swell their playing ranks.

County are also set to make announcements on their new backroom staff, with ex-England international Russell Osman and talent-spotter Steve Marsella understood to be heading to Newport.
