NEWPORT County AFC Supporters Trust has announced that it has now raised £140,000 towards the £195,000 it needs to complete its takeover of the club.
In a statement this morning, the Trust says: “We are now coming to the end of week four since our share offer launch and we are delighted to announce that the contributions currently sit at £140,000.
“Trust membership currently stands at 1740.
“The Trust continues to be overwhelmed by the generosity of people. It has been fantastic and we urge fans to continue with the momentum and give one final push to get us over the line.
“To support we are holding a number of share surgeries. The first of these were held last night and proved successful.
“The purpose is to meet supporters who may have questions about the share offer or indeed any other part of the takeover. In addition you will also be able to join the Trust and purchase shares.”
The Trust surgery details are:

There will be a number of the Trust Board in attendance who will be able to answer any questions you may have.
The Trust statement continues: "In addition and to help contribute to that target here is a guide to buying shares:
"Step 1 - Trust Membership - You need to join the Trust - Forms can be downloaded from the website or available at the club
"Step 2 - Buying Shares - There is a form that can be downloaded on the website or again you can approach the club
"Step 3 - Paying for Shares - This can be undertaken in a variety of ways:
