NEWPORT County AFC manager John Sheridan has further boosted his squad with the loan signings of Tommy O'Sullivan and Jazzi Barnum-Bobb from Cardiff City.

Both Bluebirds youngsters should go straight into the squad to face Portsmouth at Rodney Parade on Saturday.

Midfielder O’Sullivan last week beat former Exiles youngster Regan Poole to the FAW Young Player of the Year award at the Football Association of Wales end of season awards ceremony.

He also has Football League experience after his loan spell with League One Port Vale last season, making five appearances for the Vale under the management of his former Wales coach Robert Page.

Enfield-born defender Barnum-Bobb made his senior Cardiff debut against Coventry in the League Cup in August 2014.

O'Sullivan said:  “I’m just looking forward to enjoying some game time. I have played with Jazz for the last two-years now, so its been good to sign on the same day as him, and that can only help when we get on the pitch.

“This last week from winning the award at the FAW ceremony, to joining Newport on loan, feels like a big week in my development and my progression as a footballer”.

Barnum-Bobb said: "It’s a really good chance for me to come at get some League Two experience.

“I want to start as many games as I can, with the aim to get my loan deal extended.

“I have set up Tommy for quite a few goals for the U21 squad and hopefully I can do the same for Newport”.

The loan agreements for both players will expire after the League Two fixture against Accrington Stanley on November 14.
