NEWPORT County AFC have announced that defender Matt Taylor has left the club.
A statement released by the club tonight reads: “Further to recent discussions, we can confirm that Matt Taylor will leave the club with immediate effect having mutually agreed to terminate the defenders contract.
“The experienced centre-back, who joined the Exiles back in July 2015, made his debut as a late substitute in our 1-0 victory away at Carlisle United towards the end of September.
“Taylor made just five appearances for the club, the most recent coming in our Emirates FA Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers at Rodney Parade.
“The club would like to thank Matt for his efforts during his time with us and wish him all the best for the future as he begins his search for a new club.”
