SOULEYMANE Coulibaly's header on 88 minutes cancelled out Jack Marriott's 81st-minute opener for Luton Town and the point means Newport County AFC are safe from relegation. Here's what we learned...

1. County will be a League Two club again next season

The most important thing to come out of Saturday’s clash at Kenilworth Road is the fact that County are safe from relegation.

After a long hard season on and off the pitch the Exiles are finally over the line and we can all look forward to another season in the Football League.

2. Warren Feeney has the right attitude

The Exiles boss was happy and relieved to have got the job done on Saturday but he made a point of stating there would be no wild celebrations.

As far as he’s concerned there is little to celebrate in finishing 22nd or even 17th in League Two. He’s aiming higher and you have to applaud his ambition.

3. John Sheridan deserves credit too

Feeney finished the job that Sheridan started at Rodney Parade back in October and he was quick to praise his predecessor for his part in the rescue mission.

Sheridan proved his worth again on Saturday by guiding Oldham Athletic to safety in League One to complete a pretty impressive season’s work.

4. Alex Rodman can be a key player next season

The former Gateshead midfielder returned from injury with an impressive display at Kenilworth Road, taking the game to the Hatters from the off.

He’s suffered with too many injuries this season and been criticized by some for a perceived lack of work rate but this was another example of his undoubted talent.

5. Souleymane Coulibaly’s acrobatics put a smile on everyone’s face

He may not be the new Didier Drogba as he was once dubbed but the man from the Ivory Coast, via Peterborough United, is a great character.

He was literally jumping for joy after his goal and it was a sight to cheer everyone connected with the club after what has been a season with far too few moments to savour.
