NEWPORT County AFC are offering local clubs and organisations free tickets for Saturday’s final home game of the season against Notts County.

An Exiles spokesman said: “The club is working closely with our community team to ensure everyone has the chance to attend our final home game.

“All this week the community team are distributing tickets to local schools and businesses with 700 printed tickets being distributed throughout Newport and Gwent.

“The community tickets are open to all local junior clubs, schools, youth groups and organisations for Saturday’s game.”

Director Gavin Foxall said: “We want to welcome various sectors of the community to join us for our final home game of the season.

“After securing our Football League status last weekend, the board were keen to use this initiative to bring the community together in support of its local football team.

“I’m sure Saturday will be a great occasion at Rodney Parade, paired with the Match for Life and presentation evening that takes place on the same day."

Any local clubs, schools or groups interested in attending the game should email office@newport-county.co.uk for details.

The club is also hosting a fun day at Rodney Parade from 9am on Sunday.

The event is being run by the Junior Academy, County in the Community and Newport County AFC DSA.

On the main pitch the Junior Academy will be giving the youngsters of Newport and the surrounding areas a chance to play on the Rodney Parade pitch.

There will be an opportunity to meet some of the first-team players and Spytty the Dog.

The Junior Academy will be hosting a variety of football packages for under-7s to under-10s, costing £50 per team. All application requests should be sent to darren.broadribb@newport-county.co.uk

County in the Community will deliver fun football sessions for Soccer Tots, football skills for seven to 16-year-olds, walking football for the over-50s and NCAFC Ladies will offer female only sessions.

Newport County DSA have organised hot and cold food, go-kart parties, a rodeo bull, inflatable castles, an assault course, and toddler play areas.

Live music will start at 12pm and there will also be a sponsors v Newport County AFC legends game taking place on the Rodney Parade pitch after the Junior Academy activities.

Admission is £2 for adults and free for children.
