NEWPORT County AFC manager Warren Feeney says his team will have no fear against League Two leaders Luton Town tomorrow night after Saturday’s shock win at Leyton Orient.

A Jamie Turley goal at Brisbane Road sealed County’s first victory of the season and a first for Feeney since March 12.

The Exiles boss says the three points and a clean sheet will boost his side’s belief as they head to Kenilworth Road but he insists they won’t be getting carried away after one win.

“I’m pleased but we’ll keep our feet firmly on the ground,” said Feeney.

“I’m pleased for everyone that we got three points. It’s a boost but we’re still only three games in to the season and we’ll not get carried away.

“I’m a big believer that when you’re winning you don’t get too high and when you’re losing you don’t get too low.

“You try to keep that balance because it’s only one game and Tuesday night could knock you back down to earth – that’s football.

“The important thing was to get points on the board. I was disappointed last week because we should have had a point and been in the next round of the cup.

“Football is a cruel game but it can turn like that. There was a lot of negativity around on the back of two defeats but on Saturday we get a great win and that’s how quick football turns.

“Tuesday is another good game for us,” he added. “Like Leyton Orient they are one of the big hitters in the league.

“But as a player you should never fear the opposition and we won’t fear anyone.

“I was like that as a player – I didn’t care who I was up against.

“You show them respect but if you show fear as a player you won’t get off to a good start.

“They’re one of the big hitters in the league but so what? It’s 11 v 11.”

County could be without Jennison Myrie-Williams against the Hatters after the winger was forced off with a thigh problem on Saturday.

He joins Jack Compton and Lenell John-Lewis in the treatment room but striker Jon Parkin is available again after his three-match ban and should make his debut.
