NEWPORT County AFC caretaker manager Michael Flynn believes the Easter weekend will go a long way to deciding the fates of the clubs battling to stay in League Two.

County, currently 23rd, host Yeovil Town tomorrow (kick-off 3pm) hoping for the three points that could lift them out of the bottom two and put them within four points of the Glovers in 20th.

The Exiles then travel to second-placed Plymouth Argyle on Monday (kick-off 3pm) looking to spoil the hosts potential promotion party.

Hartlepool United (22nd) host Carlisle United (7th) tomorrow and go to basement boys Leyton Orient on Monday, while Cheltenham Town (21st) are at Crawley Town (18th) before welcoming Grimsby Town (14th) to Whaddon Road.

But Flynn insists he is taking one game at a time and focusing on what his own side has to do rather than worry about their rivals’ results.

He recognises the importance of victory over Yeovil but has warned that it will be no easy task to overcome Darren Way’s side.

“I think they will definitely be dragged into it [if we beat them],” said the boss.

“We’ve got a chance to bring another team into it [and we have to take it] because I do think either Hartlepool or Cheltenham are going to get results.

“The more that are brought into it the better the odds are for us so that’s something we’ll be looking to do and we’ll be giving everything we’ve got.

“Yeovil will want to beat us and guarantee their League Two status and we’ll be wanting to beat them to drag them into a dogfight that we’re confident we can get out of.

“But there’s no easy games. They are above us so why would it be easy for us?

“We’re where we are for a reason but the boys have been fantastic and we need to keep it going.”

Flynn added: “With two games close together I think we’ll have a lot clearer idea of how things are standing come Monday evening.

“It’s not going to be make or break, apart from Leyton Orient who could go down, but it is going to have a big impact on what does happen.

"But I’m not worried about how others do. I’ll have a look after we’ve hopefully got three points.

"If we don’t win another game we’re not going to stay up anyway so we need to concentrate on what we’re doing and hopefully the rest will look after itself."
